About

Welcome to my training blog. When you tell people that you’re going to run a marathon, most people don’t understand what all that involves. It’s a lot more than just running the 26.2 miles on race day. My training regimen started out around 25 miles a week and will wrap up at close to 50! More than just the physical challenge, though, is the mental focus it takes to motive yourself to get out and run almost every day and the emotional drain that can cause.

I don’t want you to think I am complaining. I’m not. This is something I choose to do because there’s a whole world of people who don’t worry about running at all because they’re too concerned with whether or not they will eat today. Even in the “down” economy, we live in extremely comfortable conditions while children are droppind dead from malaria, a completely preventable desease. The world is cracked. This is what I can do for now to help fix it.

Help me. Jump over to my fund raising page and make a donation. Donate a dollar. Donate a hundred. Every little bit helps. The gospel is free, but someone has to put in the plumbing, right?

You can come back here and keep track of what I’m doing to train for the marathon and read my ramblings about what the experience has awakened in me.
